Around Om Beach..
Om beach is amongst the most popular beaches in Gokarna with many adjacent beaches making Om Beach an ideal destination for a beach vacation in Karnataka. To the northern side is the Kudle beach while to the south of Om Beach are the secluded half moon and Paradise beach.
Om Beach continues up to Paradise beach across the Half moon beach which are very popular beaches amongst foreign tourists.
Beyond Paradise beach there are small beaches like Belikan where the Aganashini river meets the Arabian sea. Across the Aganashini river is Barka beach sandwiched by hills on either sides. The view from atop the hill after Barkha beach is awe inspiring with a 180 degree view of the tuqoise blue sea.
Gokarna Beaches
There are five popular beaches in this region of the shore line. Gokarna beach with its temples is more of a conservative pilgrim centre unlike the other four beaches of Kudle, Om beach, half moon and the southern most Paradise beach
Karwar at 60 Kms from Gokarna is famous for the Tagore beach at the confluence of the Kali river and the Arabian sea. Karwar beach is a thin strip of white sand beach just ideal for a walk. About 6 kms from Karwar town across the Kali river is the Sadashivgad fort built on a small hill. There is an ancient durga temple near the Sadashivgad fort. The Karwar port earlier known as Baithkol is also worth a visit. Karwar jetty is the base to visit the Devbagh and Kurumgad.
