Munnar - The Jewel of Kerala..
At an altitude of 1,520 meters Munnar is one of the most popular hillstations in Kerala and south India. Under 500kms away from Bangalore Munnar is amosgst the best hill stations that one could visit from Bangalore and with numerous sightseeing options and smaller lesser known hill stations strewn around is an ideal destination for a longish holiday.
Munnar famous for Neelkurinji, the flower that blooms once every twelve years in the Munnar valleys is by far the most popular hill station in Kerala near Bangalore. Munnar is lush green all through the year, TATA tea estate spreads almost all over Munnar and gives the look of a green blanket cover. About 15kms from Munnar is Eravikulam National Park famous for the Nilgiri Thar. Mattupetty, which is 13 kms from Munnar is popular for the indo-swiss livestock project and the beautiful landscape.

Indo-Swiss Live Stock Project
Mattupetty 13 kms from Munnar at 1700 mts is famous for the Indo-swiss live stock project . Over 100 varietes of high yielding cattle are reared here.Visitors are allowed into three cattle sheds at the farm Visit Time : 9-11 am and 2-4pm.
Eravikulam National Park
Eravikulam National Park is situated in the High Ranges (Kannan Devan Hills) 13 kms from Munnar. The Park spreads over 97 sq. km and mostly is high altitude grasslands interspersed with sholas forest. Eravikulam National Park harbours the largets surviving population of Nilgiri tahr. About 120 species of birds and 100 species of butterflies have also been recorded at the park.
